GEELY Automobile Holdings Ltd forecast its vehicle exports next year will double to 40,000 units as it expands into Russia, the South China Morning Post said yesterday, quoting Executive Director Lawrence Ang. Geely, China's largest privately owned auto maker, will sell cars in Russia under a US$1.5-billion deal with Rolf Group as economic growth boosts Russian vehicle sales, the company said this week. The company also plans to sell to the US and Western Europe by 2009.

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The euro came under mild pressure Friday following data showing a composite reading of euro-zone purchasing manufacturing surveys fell to 53.8 in November from 54.7 in October. Surprisingly, manufacturing PMI rose, to 52.6 from 51.5. But the services PMI fall was greater than forecast, down to 53.7 from 55.8. Any reading above 50 indicates economic expansion. The euro -- which touched $1.4966 overnight --slipped to $1.4838 from $1.4846.
